Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 June 2026

Sold My Home (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how you can access it, correct it, or make a complaint. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy applies to our website soldmyhome.com.au, our online course at learn.soldmyhome.com.au, and the forms and tools we provide. By using our website or enrolling in the course, you agree to this policy.

1. What personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that we reasonably need. This includes:

  • Enrolment details — your name and email address when you sign up for the free course.
  • Referral details — when you use a “Connect me with…” form to ask us to put you in touch with a service provider, we collect your name, email, phone number, suburb and state, your preferred contact method, and your consent to be contacted.
  • Messages you send us — any information you include when you email or otherwise contact us.
  • Technical and usage data — when you visit our website we automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and how you found us. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools (see section 6).

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or political information). Please don’t send us sensitive information unless we specifically ask for it.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you — when you enrol, complete a form, or contact us.
  • Automatically — through cookies and analytics tools when you use our website (see section 6).
  • From our service providers — for example, our course platform tells us when you have enrolled or opened an email.

3. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose it

We use your personal information to:

  • create your account and give you access to the free course and its tools;
  • send you the course welcome sequence, lesson content, related tips and offers (you can unsubscribe at any time — see section 7);
  • connect you with a service provider when you ask us to, and pass on the details you provide so they can contact you;
  • respond to your enquiries and provide support;
  • understand how our website and course are used so we can improve them, and measure the performance of our marketing;
  • maintain the security of our website and comply with our legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only as described below.

Service providers who help us run Sold My Home. We use trusted third parties to operate our business, and they may handle your information on our behalf, including:

  • our course and membership platform (which hosts your account and sends our emails);
  • our website hosting and form-handling provider;
  • our email delivery provider;
  • analytics and advertising providers (see section 6).

Referral partners. Sold My Home is funded through referrals, and we tell you so up front — on our website (including the landing page) and again at the point you provide your details, in the relevant links and forms. When you use a “Connect me with…” form and tick the consent box, we share the contact details you provide with one trusted provider, for the purpose of that introduction only — for example a conveyancer or solicitor, property photographer, listing service, valuer, building and pest inspector, removalist, insurer, or utilities connection service. We may receive a referral fee for the introduction. It never costs you more, and you are never obliged to use a provider we suggest.

Other disclosures. We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (including our course platform, website hosting, analytics and advertising providers) are based in the United States and may store or process your personal information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the site work and let us understand how it is used. We use:

  • Analytics cookies — such as Google Analytics, to see how visitors use our site so we can improve it; and
  • Advertising cookies and pixels — such as the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which we may use to measure and improve our advertising.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

7. Marketing emails

When you enrol in the free course we will email you course content and related information. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by emailing us at hello@soldmyhome.com.au. We will still send you essential, non-marketing messages about your account where necessary.

8. How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including storing it with reputable providers that use access controls and encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, while you have an account or remain subscribed — and for any period we are required to keep it by law. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 10).

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, email us at hello@soldmyhome.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days) and may need to verify your identity first. If we decline a request, we will explain why.

11. Children’s privacy

Our website and course are intended for adults selling residential property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-party links

Our website and course may link to other websites, including those of our referral partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with your information.

13. Making a complaint

If you have a question or concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at hello@soldmyhome.com.au and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

  • Website: oaic.gov.au
  • Phone: 1300 363 992

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear on our website.

15. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us at hello@soldmyhome.com.au.
